Produce coke out of coal as fuel required for Steel production or advanced smelting.

By my humble opinion, if petrochain needs even more diversification than now, it should rather recieve more attention toward plastic production part as a substitute material for wood in construction. Plus digging deeper into oil having just iron and copper without aluminium is an unfair focus shift.
Also, what about light distillate (gas) that should naturally go into boilers instead of flare stacks?

Coal coke sounds interesting and the addition of it's byproducts coal-gas and coal-tar would, as well, be interesting
