Build storage/mergers over transports
For buildings that have a through-path for materials where there is a straight line between input and output, and the output material is unchanged from the input material (e.g. storages, splitter/mergers), allow placing the building on top of an existing transport where when built it replaces that section of the transport. Example: being able to build a fluid storage on top of an existing pipe, with the storage aligned along the pip in one of the two straight paths between an input and output port. This would be useful for upgrades to existing portions of the factory without having to completely sever the transport and shut down that part of the factory during the time while the building is waiting for the parts required to arrive for it to be built.

YandersenActually yes, indeed such feature of partial replacement of a belt/pipe with insertion of storage/tank will be in demand - seen most struggle and swear about that. Especially with current mechanics where part of the belt/pipe can not be deleted without temporary detours. In fact the root of the problem comes from limitation that ghost entity can not be placed before underlying entity is fully deconstructed.
