Copy/paste building settings to other buildings

If setting up a section of the factory that has multiple buildings that will all be using the same recipe (e.g. workshops for making construction materials, or waste dumps), it would be useful to be able to configure the first building, then copy its configuration and paste it onto the additional buildings where it is valid to do so (e.g. ideally - while you couldn't paste the construction materials 2 recipe to be used from an electric to a manual workshop, you could still paste a constructions materials 1 recipe from an electric to a manual workshop). Flares, waste dumps, assembly workshops, metal casters (iron/copper sheets), maintenance buildings, and farms are all example buildings where this functionality would be useful.

Totally needed. As a factorio veteran I suffered greatly being unable to copypaste duplications in CoI. Blueprints and ctrl-z are a dream, of course, but existing pipette tool should be able to hop building config, imo.

Great to see that this feature is planned for the future.
My idea is to keep the copy/paste tool and add a new duplicate tool, where you can choose either to duplicate (clone) the building 1:1 with all settings or
duplicate the settings only. The result is that you can a) copy/paste as usual to build quickly and b) duplicate (clone) pre-selected settings. The third option c) is just copy the settings and paste it to another building.
