Turbine Shaft
Sections of straight shaft you can put between your Turbine, Generator and Flywheel incase you need to modify your design or move past a object in the way.
ex. I had a turbine, 3 generators and a fly wheel..... i wanted to reduce down to two generators. i had to destroy one generator and my flywheel, then rebuild my flywheel when i could have just deleted the generator and added a shaft where it was.

YandersenMaybe more general approach would be to make drive shaft to be a separate segmented building like pipe? In that case turbines and generators shall be build over existing shaft. Same mechanic can be applied to storage tanks to allow building them as buffers as it was suggested in other thread.

cy-oneIn addition what Yandersen said, making the shaft a "straight-only" pipe'ish building would enable us to put a vehicle bridge/ramp over it. I like that!

GaridusI like this idea because I also thought about a building that connects to conveyor belts to turn the conveyor belts with mechanical power versus electrical power. If you have a big belt network you could use mechanical energy to turn it and take it off your power grid.

MalGearboxes would allow the drive shaft to turn at an angle.

cy-oneIn the meantime I've become convinced that 90deg pinion buildings would also be nice.
