Make space a DLC/expansion

Love this game so far and would like to see development of the game many years to come. But that of course costs money. And even without the space-end game I feel that there is more than enough content to keep playing. So by making space a expansion/DLC the developers could focus on the base game first and hopefully work on COI for a long time to come :)

(Battle Brothers good example when DLC done alright)

Aren't there enough games already that provide space as an option? This is about mining where you are, not about exploration of other areas. Seriously, plenty of other space-based mining simulators if you want one of those.

Except the whole point of the game is to launch a rocket into space, shouldn't there be a reason for it, or a reward of some kind?

I agree more is needed here for late game. I'm not saying a space station or base, but maybe
1) Launching a satellite give you more map locations?
2) Power beamed back from space?
3) A cargo ship to a moon/asteroid that returns materials not found on the planet? Maybe something like the ship but with space locations?
