Improved tutorial/guide/game mode.
I don't understand what im doing. I get the whole idea of building but figuring it out was majorly confusing as a "new player" to this game. This games basic tutorial is, salvage/recycle and figure out food production/research. Uh.. i sorta understand what im doing, right out the gate, but is there any sort of tutorial at all in the game? I was looking at the kickstarter im apart of and its just, not really any form of guidance on how to really play. The discord is okay i guess, but think of this as a "new player" coming into the game. Can we get integrated tutorial at some point to help us better along? If there is one, i didn't see it at all unless the extremely limited no guidance at all but somewhat wording in the opening was the tutorial. That needs a serious revamping.
A great idea would be, tutorial can be enabled or disabled at the start of any map custom or otherwise so we get a base idea what to do and hit the ground running

JamieThe tutorial ingame is fine. If that is not enough for you, try Youtube.
There are about a half dozen Youtube playlists available.
Nilaus 'Let's Play' was the reason I bought the game.
Other links by others platers are easily found by searching Steam Discussions. -

ChrisThe Tutorial is not fine in my opinion. There's little about how to raise and lower land for dumping and mining, and there's nothing about using the ship. I have trucks sitting around waiting to do something that may not yet be do-able but they were assigned the task automatically and I can't find a way to cancel the order. This game isn't so much a game as what I see as a conversion of an excellent simulation designed perhaps for some university project and then later considered to have potential play value. However, I'm with the first poster on this thread. I've put in 30 hours on the game and still don't know what I'm really doing. Moreover, suggesting players go out of game to YouTube or search for player Internet links is not what I'm paying for in a game.
I like the "game." It has excellent potential and re-playability but it's complex, NOT intuitive, and comes with a steep learning curve.
