Key binding to place pipe or conveyor ontop of existing pipe (instead of linking)

Its currently difficult to stack pipes and conveyors but this becomes more and more necessary in later game. A simple key binding (e.g. hold alt) while building to autimate the placing of a pipe or conveyor on the next level above the current pipe or conveyor would dramatically improve the usability of building complex links

There is a toggle for this, 'R' disabled transport connections. I see your suggestion is for a hold action instead of a toggle? Hold vs. toggle, I could go either way; maybe make it a selectable behavior in options.

I agree with the OP. I want to lock placement to a desired level. A mode you set and not temporary like pressing shift or control.
