Smaller Mining/Dumping Grid
Currently the designation tool size is double the width of a retaining wall, which makes working with them quite annoying. If the designation tool grid size was the same size as the width of a retaining wall it would solve a lot of these problems.

link12313 MergedRight now all you can do is change large swathes of land. Being able to dump things or dig things on the smallest squares on the grid would be nice. It would mainly be used for pipe burying or water channels.

MFeltmannand it would be so much better to build retaining walls

YandersenWhile I admit the problem pointed exists, I don't think the proposed solution is right. I think that shrinking mining designation will make it even harder to tell the direction of the slope (pita already). So I'd rather suggest making walls snapping to the grid and get doubled in width to make segments cover the whole square at once. Or snap to the center of the designation square, but in that case the edges of the land will not look so clean.

JamieI like the option to decrease size and also I would add the option to increase it.

Maybe a number I could set somewhere to change the size. Maybe a value from 1x1 to 4x4.
See related suggestion "A way to edit small amounts of terrain." One of these is a duplicate suggestion I think. -

MFeltmanncould work but would have to go deeper so its not just waste of a wall
