Mining Control Tower -> Mobile Mining Office
After watching the dev stream #39, where he's talking about moving mining towers, and how it should be easier...
What if, instead of a building, there was an RV-like office on wheels vehicle that served the same purpose. It would remain a physical thing in the world to click on/configure, but it would also be easy and natural to move it around without seeming contrived. Some of the other things he mentioned like color coding could still be easily applied, too.
A lot of work sites IRL will use containerized offices or trailers for management, so this would be a way to solve the problem while maintaining immersion.
Having it as a vehicle would make moving the tower and its settings trivial without actually changing the existing function/mechanics.

DarkaiserI can see this working well, especially within the research tree. An early-stage of this would be limited to a certain number of vehicles. Later levels of vehicle tech would increase this.

SpeedDaemonDepends on whether it's a complete replacement for the mining tower. If so, you can't really limit it. It's not going to have the same pathfinding/job search load that work vehicles do, so I'm assuming there'd be no real performance impact to having as many of them as people do mining towers.
If static mining towers stay, I can't see really needing more than 10-20. Even when I was flattening and paving over Curland, 15 movable towers would have been enough. -

JamieChi57This is how it is done in the logging industry in the US, and also at many construction sites. Either a small trailer, or a moveable single (or double) wide mobile or manufactured home.
And yes, it should be a replacement for the mining tower.
