Truck parking while idle
Ability to construct parking lots and let trucks park when they are idle. Upgraded parking lots can even have refueling so truck can refuel while waiting for jobs. Maybe even add a snack bar so that truck drivers are extra efficient after a short wait :)

Love this one! I always like to build vehicle buildings on the same area. This feature will make it awesome!
This would be great! Also make finding idle trucks from scrapping/upgrading a lot easier!
I like this idea also. I get tired of seeing trucks scattered all over the place when they get done with their job. Having a central area for the trucks to come and sit idle until it is needed would make the map a lot cleaner.
I think it will make trucks travel more - every time they have task completed they go into parking, then get another task and go somewhere else. May turn into troublesome idea if so.
I think parking lots shall be added to fuel stations, so when trucks are low on fuel they go there instead of getting stuck in the field. Once station get fuel delivered, the parked trucks can get fueled and ready to go. So imo, parking shall not be used when job completed, but rather to get trucks ready for rapid refueling in case of fuel emergency to avoid death spiral due to fuel shortage.
Not sure if it is already implemented but less maintenance and fuel usage when idle too.
Oh god yes please. Let us make proper parking lots for the trucks and excavators (if they are unassigned). Possibly tie it with fuel stations?

tey´ll go to park to refill after some idle time timer on it, not instantly
I think just add a parking lot to the vehicle Depot and trucks can sit there and wait. I don't think we need another building.
muh immersion is broken now that ive seen this suggestion plz fix me immersion with parking lot
How about electric trucks and the parkinglot can be upgraded with charging?
I see this as an upgrade to the fuel station. The trucks can fill up and then idle, spending less fuel while they sit. If they have to travel too far to get to the truck stop, it's a net loss but if they go to the stop and camp for a long time, the fuel savings can be worth it.
This sounds like a great suggestion.
I often click on "recover" just because a truck is blocking my view while trying to build stuff.
I like this idea. Maybe add a parking lot to the Mine Control Towers.
I like the idea! M suggestions for the idea: trucks at parking lot should have reduced maintenance cost and 0 fuel consumption. parked vehicles should free up the persons as well, and occupy the vehicles if needed.
Parking at the Vehicle Depot would be a great research add on. Snap 1 or more parking lots to it and/or the 'gas station'.
Maybe a combined Vehicle Depot/Gas Station with parking.
Seeing trucks at the Vehicle Depot stacked on top of each other Really annoys me.
A place for idle vehicles to go would be great.
Basically youwant to make truck terminals
This IMO should be an upgrade for fuel stations
And if anything should be a "Not in use, dont need fuel, mantience should still tick but at a reduced rate, as "staff" would keep and maintain them
What would be interesting is that with these "Terminals" instead of micromanage the stops they work with a given "area" or"kinds" if jobs IE dumping hauling, Transportation of goods. And maybe solid/loose/liquid yards that give bonuses to cary capacity, as they become "specialized" in what they carry.
Make the specialization process take time per truck (experience level or someone) so you cant micromanage and cheat.
As mentioned this idea would work excellent as a module upgrade to the fuel station, or the fuel station be a module upgrade to the parking area. Obviously these probably only really work for pickups and dump trucks: I doubt having the mega haulers sitting on them would be great for the asphalt/concrete but usually you want to keep those rolling anyways to justify the cost of building them.
Could have an upgrade like level 2 has canvas over the parking spots to protect from the elements and further reduce maintenance (or double as a less efficient rain catchment). Other attachable modules could include a washing station (takes water, reduces maintenance by washing corrosive dirt, salt, industrial byproducts off of your vehicles) or a convenience stop (gives small boosts for vehicle movement and/or unity in return for consuming water/junk food).
Instead of having idle trucks sitting EVERYWHERE, what if the Advanced Logistics tech also added the ability to designate a specific spot for idle trucks to park? Not a building (I believe that may have been suggested) but just a spot (with the 'move to here' button) where the truck would default to if it were idle.
Idle trucks attached to a mining tower could be sent to a nearby point to await the call for delivery.
Idle trucks from the General Delivery pool could be sent to a spot near a fuel depot so they can easily gas up if necessary.
Idle trucks could be sent to an area where you're about to do a bunch of demo so they can be ready to pick up stuff and carry it away quickly.
I can think of a lot of uses for this and it uses assets already in the game (Advanced Logistics and the 'go here' button).

"Designated Waiting Spot for Idle Trucks" (suggested by Darkaiser on 2022-07-22), including upvotes (1) and comments (0), was merged into this suggestion.
Another advantage to this is the ability to see at a glance how many idle trucks you have. If the 'parking lot' is constantly full, then you likely have too many trucks and you're burning fuel unnecessarily. Great place to Scrap older vehicles too.
Mining trucks and excavators already go back to the control tower. I would suggest adding an option that vehicles go to a parking area first when paused, then shut down. That would be tidier without generating extra truck trips.
This should be at the top of the list. Hate having to recover vehicles because they decide to go idle in place as soon as they complete a job. If they don't have anything to do, they should at least go back to the vehicle depot or something.
The snack bar could also sell cigarettes/tobacco products, opening tobacco in farming, paper from trees, etc!!
