Display maximum ore depth numerically on top of columns in Layers mode
It would be handy if the maximum ore depth was displayed numerically on top of the columns in Layers mode. The way things are now, we have to (try to) count them by hand--which is both error prone and not fun.

MrJoshuaI'd prefer a toggle, for those who prefer it as is now. For me, just colored numbers to to indicate the layer and how big. The last map I was on, the area was so wide, and the columns so tall I couldn't see underneath really.

TrollsamaaAlternitivly, you could have the layer number that each bar represents imbedded into the bar.

JamieI would like a flat heatmap that could be displayed with the min and max values in text. I don't care for the vertical bars thing. Red for the highest concentrations, and other lighter colors to show lower concentrations.

Claytonhere is an idea, make a tech called geological survey, and a drill survey truck, once researched you can select areas for survey, this adds the deposit depth info, and data of deposit size

PeterI like Clayton Idea. For start of game we can just see some of rss. After tech called geological survey we have to find it.

Rolling StenOr at least select tool which shows lowest depth of resources in selected area.

Makkisant would be really nice with such mechanics. just not just add numbers, but for example, add a geological station that, with the help of certain studies, would determine the exact number of cells in a certain area.

dawningarkThis could also play into newer, much larger maps where the deposits aren't immediately obvious. Gotta scout those things out or waste your time digging.

To help with mine planning here are a couple of possible interesting ideas :
1. Adding a tool tip when you mouse over a small segment of the ore bar telling you which is the depth of the section under the mouse. This would be my ideal option since there would not be a bunch of numbers on the screen all the time. This option might be complex to implement i.e. detect on which bar the mouse is hovering and then what part of the bar.
2. Alternatively at the bottom of each bar have a number display showing the lowest point of the ore bar when hovering with the mouse. This would still be a pretty good option in my eyes, but again I can see the complexity in implementing this.
3. Alternatively have a toggle able option in the overlay to show the above information, I am no developer but i think this would be the simplest technically wise as the resources must be saved part of the map hence there is only the need to read the information.
