Better tools for terrain management.
The title almost speaks for itself.
The game already allows for quite some versatility in terms of terrain manipulation but at this moment it is still in a very basic form. Yet, I would consider this to be the major component that sets it apart from other games like Factorio.
Ideas:
- More structures like retaining walls.
- Ability to pour concrete slabs across the vast surfaces that would be flat and unmineable. Not only it would highlight an industrial feel (something that I currently achieve with selective dumping) but it would allow us to dump loose material in large overworld storage piles that could be re-mined afterwards.
- Ability to paint For that yellow/black ambience
- Ability to create Dirt for future placement
- Store Units in overworld piles (stacks of wood, iron bars, copper
- (In the far future) liquid support? pour acid in man-made lakes? leech metals?

VladAdditionally
- precise layer cover to hide that ugly trash\slag\rock puke without resorting to significant zone dancing. Perhaps dumping profiles: (Allow X to be dumped up to level Y, and only dump Z above that.)
- water excavators/barges for over the sea mining and sea floor dredging. -

JamieI want both foundations like the ones in Satisfactory, and the Floor Tiles in Factorio to change the color of the ground without having to mine and place dirt or rock or something else. The foundations could be used to cover trenches where belts and pipes can be placed without having to refill them.
