Basic One-Space Connector Upgrade to One-Space Balancer
Make the three basic connectors up-gradable to a connector balancer that has the same prioritization settings and features as the other, larger (ground level only), transport balancers.
Would also be helpful to place such connectors (basic or otherwise) manually.

YandersenLet's make it easy for the user. No need to upgrade explicitly - let it be handled internally, once the user sets the priority for any of the connector's port (so then it get implicitly reconfigured to the balancer logic of behavior). And unlike the standalone full scale balancer, the connector does not need to handle "strict I/O ratios" option (not very useful with just 3-4 ports anyway).

ouTPhaze1x1's, 1x2's and 2x2's
I think having it be a "1x1 smart connector (1-2 inputs that can go to 1-3 outputs, based on priority and filtering)" that is unlocked when you unlock the 2x2 balancer, would be a great way to do it. Or at least add a 1x2 that only has 1 input and 2 outputs (or 2 outputs and 1 input, controllable and filterable from the interface)
Currently, a 2x2 (8 configurable inputs/outputs) is excessive in both cost and space for what they are commonly used for.
