Addition of massive industrial excavators, like in the photo in anex (Bagger 293).

It would be a late game alternative to excavators for large terraforming projects, being more suitable for moving stone and dirt.

They could fill a mega hauler in a single step, or could be in some way connected directly to a building, like the new ore separator building.

Being too big for the vehicle depot, it could be assembled like a building, having limited mobility, like rocket mover vehicles.

Bucketwheel excavators are not generally used for miining minerals, they are used for removing signifigant overburdon(think topsoild and loose rock) from mineral deposits and IMHO have no place in this game!
