Post research tree use for labs…

Research labs and their supply network become redundant (except trade) after the research tree is completed.
Perhaps the labs could be set to improve efficiencies (once all research is complete) for example in maintenance, recycling, etc., or to improve outputs of certain buildings or products, or to improve citizen unity/health….
Its a shame the labs just mothball as it is.
