WelkripI did a little searching. There are about five such proposals. This innovation would initially increase the amount of cargo transported without requiring additional workers. It would increase the amount of cargo while maintaining the same delivery intervals between points (in logistics). Perhaps some more specific solutions would be possible, such as deliveries to locations where larger vehicles cannot reach.
And the penalty for this is essentially increased fuel and resource consumption (spare parts).
On the other hand, it would make next-level trucks unnecessary. We need to find a balance.
P.S. I'm talking about a regular truck, to which a semi-trailer can be added. Incidentally, such trailers are unlikely to be used as dump trucks.
