Disable track path finder from suggesting loops

Currently, when I am laying track, the system often suggests a path that crosses over itself. I am at a loss to think of an instance when I would want such a track path. I would like a setting to tell the system that if the only available path crosses itself, it's invalid; in such instances, just tell me that there is no valid path.
