Add realistic power management
It would be nice if you have to cable everything up (at least similar to factorio), but maybe with the addition of needing appropriate transformer-stations for the correct voltage, different cable thickness/power delivery system for mainlines or from substations etc.

Cabling to every building would quickly become very annoying, but a hybrid approach would be nice. Transmission-level lines from generators out to substations only. The substations then have an area of effect for distributing power, similar to how mine and forrestry towers have an area of work. Tech could come at the same time as the first generators. With advance logistics later in the game the substations could then optionally target specific buildings, letting you segregate the power in to seperate grids or control which grid building draw from, to give finer control over what power is used where. -

Rolling StenThat would add a lot of CPU costs and unnecessary complications, many people would have problems with that. Some oversight or minor mistake can lead to a death spiral quickly. In Factorio it is easier to survive brownouts/blackouts, you also have much simpler production and no maintenance.

Quavosh_Industry_4.0Power lines is an overcomplication. But something like power station with just buildings in range receiving power would be a good solution. Not to complicated, but add an extra bit of realism. You could say that Power lines goes underground right?

Gilles HumineTbh I appreciate the fact that power line management is not part of the game. It's a core mechanic in a lot of management / automation games, but it feels more like a chore to me
