We broke down a bucket wheel excavator for large projects
We need a bucket-wheel excavator for extremely large-scale projects. It should be available in two versions:
A smaller variant that moves on tracks.
A larger version that operates on rails, which need to be laid in advance.
The bucket-wheel excavator can be connected to conveyor belts or combined with large dump trucks. It should become available later in the game ("Late Game") to maintain a proper progression balance.
It can be powered by either diesel or hydrogen engines.

Additional use scenario besides mass excavation: A bucket wheel excavator is placed in the bottom of an extinct quarry, with a steelworks nearby. 20 units above, raw iron that is being imported from another location on the map is being dumped into the quarry from above creating an ever refilling storage of the resource. The wheel excavator picks it back up and puts it on belts to directly feed the steel works.
It is essentially the largest size resource storage possible with the wheel excavator effectively being a stacker but in reverse operation. -
