research for new mineral deposits

It would be great if research could help us discover new mineral deposits on a global map or even on an island.

Yeah or like there would be random deposits quite a bit below the surface that would be exposed by this research (or through spending focus points -- imagine Office of Geology would send those guys prospecting)

Wow, that is a great Idea. The Devs can change it so that at the beginning of a game, the player must first find the mineral deposits by using an ATV.
