Road Trains as Mid-Game Logistics Step Before Rail
Introduce road trains (tractor + multiple trailers) as an intermediate logistics layer between trucks and rail. Standard trucks remain unchanged. Road trains unlock after Trucks + Large Excavators + Tree Harvesters to address mid-game scaling when mining throughput increases.
Road trains would use simplified train-style scheduling: depot-to-depot routes, fixed stops, and load/unload thresholds. They must remain on roads and require a dedicated Road Train Depot for construction and route planning.
They would carry 3–4× truck capacity but consume more fuel, have larger turning radius, and increase road congestion. This smooths progression, teaches scheduled bulk transport, and bridges the complexity gap before rail, which remains superior for long-distance and high-volume transport.

As someone who works as a loader op on a ROM that deals with road trains every day, this would absolutely slap to have in game. It's amazing how much a good fleet of super-quads can move. Upvoted!
