Maximum laying distance of conveyor belt (pipe)
When laying long-distance conveyor belts, the maximum length of each segment is 32. However, the maximum spacing between pillars is 8, and considering the width of the pillar itself is 1, each segment becomes 9. This makes the spacing between pillars very uneven, which greatly affects the aesthetics. It is recommended to change the maximum spacing between pillars to 15, and considering the width of the pillar itself is 1, the total spacing becomes exactly 16 (the width of one cell). The maximum laying distance of the conveyor belt should be changed to 64

I'd even be happy to have the maximum 'length' of a belt in a single click be a multiple of 9, since that's how far apart the pillars are. At least then you can quickly drag a belt across the map and you'll still get perfectly spaced pillars. Trying to do that now is still a nightmare (although kudos to the devs who at least have now given us the pillar tool!). But to the OP's original suggestion of making pillars 16 tiles apart, even better!!
